Helen found her way back into her love of writing and reading during her postgraduate years, as she struggled to find a sense of community and acceptance, and rediscover herself.  Helen writes voicey, character-driven stories with queer characters that she hopes readers can see a bit of themselves in as they navigate high-stakes scenarios, and examine themes like: the human condition, society, propaganda, the costs of power, and idealism.

Helen a part-time Creative Writing student, part-time creature of the wood. When she is not at her computer, Helen can be found sharing cappuccinos with Sasquatches in the rainforests near Olympia, Washington, or cuddled up on the couch with her spouse and her little furry demon (dog).

Helen is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, with a bachelor’s in international history. While at the academy, she served as assistant editor of the West Point Historical Review in 2019—a selection of papers and theses written by students from multiple universities.
